What started as a simple meeting in 2016 at Razzoo’s turned into something neither of us could have imagined—God quietly writing a love story that would unfold over the years. Cameron first noticed Marlene at the host stand and found every excuse to stop by just to talk to her, immediately drawn to her beauty. Marlene remembers thinking he was handsome, but even more than that—kind and always kept her laughing. What began as small moments and passing conversations soon grew into a friendship through mutual friends, where time together came easy and natural. One simple text—a game of pool—sparked something more. Not long after, Cameron asked Marlene to help him make an ugly sweater for a Christmas party. She agreed… but only if she could be his date. In December 2016, that “yes” marked the beginning of something special. Over the years, their relationship grew into a beautiful balance of laughter, adventure, and quiet moments at home. Whether exploring the outdoors or simply enjoying time together, they built a love rooted in joy and companionship. Marlene cherishes Cameron’s humor, his kindness, and the way he makes her feel safe and protected—not just physically, but emotionally. Cameron loves Marlene’s joyful spirit, her kindness, the way she cares for others, and the warmth of her smile. Through every season—moving in together, weathering an ice storm side by side, and making memories on camping trips—their bond only deepened. But one of the most meaningful chapters of their story was still to come. After dreaming of it for years, they finally planned a trip to Big Bend National Park. On their first day, they hiked the breathtaking Lost Mine Trail. Halfway up, they stopped for lunch, soaking in the moment and taking photos along the way. When they reached the top, Cameron asked Marlene to turn around for one more picture. As she did, she turned back to find him down on one knee, asking her to spend forever with him. In that unforgettable moment, surrounded by God’s creation, she said yes. Today, Marlene and Cameron share a home in Temple, Texas, with their beloved cat, Charlie, who has been part of their journey for nine years. Together, they’ve created a life filled with love, peace, and a beautiful garden that reflects the home they’ve built side by side. As they step into marriage, they are most excited about what the future holds—starting a family, creating their own traditions, and continuing to grow in faith and love.
