We met online through Ourtime, chatted a bit and decided to meet. We met on August 7, 2019, and we became a couple shortly thereafter. We moved in together a few days before Thanksgiving. We knew that we didn’t like parting ways at the end of the evening, and wanted to start and end our days together. Being an interfaith couple, we shared our holiday traditions with each other in December by celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas together. On December 13th, we spent the evening putting up the Christmas tree and decorating it. We finished a little after midnight, and it was beautiful when we plugged the lights in when we were done. Benson says when he was looking at Marlena in front of the tree, she had never looked so beautiful to him, and he knew he had to ask her to marry him in that moment. She gazed blankly at him for a moment or two, as this had caught her completely by surprise. Once she realized she wasn’t dreaming, and he was actually asking her to marry him, she said yes. Benson then breathed a sigh of relief, and then they celebrated with a kiss. From then on, they have fallen deeper in love with each passing day, and can’t wait to be married in front of their family and friends!
