In the fall of 2013, a young boy who had just moved to Charlotte and a young girl who had lived there her whole life met at a corn maze. Fast forward 7 years, and on October 15, 2020 Austin Steele asked Marleina Rainier to be his girlfriend. Then after 3 years of dating, 7 years of friendship and 10 years of knowing each other, Steele took Marleina on a hike in New River Gorge National Park. The sun was setting over the Endless Wall trail, known as the Grand Canyon of the East, and Steele and Marleina stopped at the summit called Diamond Point. It was there, standing along the rim of the cliffs with the sun setting in the background, that he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Now the happy couple is excited to be planning their future together and is excited for what God has in store for them.
