It was my first day at Miner and I had no idea where this job was going to take me. I never thought it would turn into my career or the place where I was going to meet my future husband. I was very nervous because I not only had to impress by new boss but when I met Gavin I knew I had to impress him as well. It must have worked because today is the day of my 3 year work anniversary and we are taking our engagement pictures.

I wanted to propose to Marlee Labor Day Weekend. We had planned to spend the weekend in Nebraska visiting friends and family, as well as spending some much needed time together and hanging out. Due to some unforeseen delays on a building project for Marlee's Aunt and Uncle in College Station, Texas, we had to rearrange our plans. This meant that I had to come up with something on the fly to propose. Marlee is a huge Texas A&M fan so i thought something in College Station would be nice, especially since we were going there for the weekend. I called Marlee's Aunt Carrie for help and we decided that I would ask her at their property where i was putting in a door on their new building. Carrie would set up balloons and candles in the building, so when we got there to drop off the trailer, I could ask her to help me measure the opening and surprise her with the candles and balloons. When we arrived at the property, I pulled up to the side of the building so she could not see inside. She said that she had to use the restroom, so when she was done, she started walking to the side of the building where the only window was. I tried to get her to walk next to the truck, but in true Marlee fashion, she did her own thing. As she was walking next to the building and saw the candles through the window. She asked me what was going on, so in a panic, I took her hand and led her around to the front of the building and dropped to one knee and asked her to be my wife. She was in complete shock and after a few minutes of disbelief and crying, I had to ask so is that a yes? She had the biggest smile on her face and said " of course babe!!" Afterwards we celebrated with champagne and then proceeded to call family and friends to share the news!
