Travel Note

Travel Consideration

Due to the 60th Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk on Monday, September 4th, the Mackinac Bridge will be closed to traffic from 5am-12pm. If you are leaving Monday and headed downstate, please take this into consideration. We hope for you to leave with a smile on your face, and we would hate for you to end your weekend with us in an unexpected traffic jam!

Travel Note

Drummond Island Ferry

That's right! It wouldn't be an true adventure if you didn't get to ride a ferry. The ferry is a short 10 minute or so ride across to the island. It is scheduled to leave from DeTour Village every hour with the first ferry departing at 6:40am until 11:40pm after which the ferry leaves DeTour Village every two hours (1:40am, 3:40am, 5:40am); however, it often crosses more frequently due to the traffic demand. Ferry rides returning from the Island to the mainland occur every hour starting at 6:10am until 11:10pm after which the ferry leaves Drummond island every two hours (1:10am, 3:10am, 5:10am). The rate for cars and pickups, including the driver, is $14. Additional adults in the vehicle have a rate of $2, and children/youth under the age of 18 are $1.
