This museum holds a special place in the bride’s heart. It’s a space for remembrance, reflection, and learning, honoring the stories of those who lived through the Holocaust. When the landmark Teas Nursery closed - it was the very first business of Bellaire - the bride's grandfather and great uncle seized the opportunity to preserve this unique piece of their community. They purchased and gifted the five-acre site to the city of Bellaire under one condition: that it be used as parkland and that it be named in honor of their mother, Evelyn. Evelyn, Lauren's great-grandmother, was a longtime Bellaire resident and philanthropist who shared the Teas family's love for the outdoors. If you visit Evelyn's Park, you can expect a quaint cafe in the original home of the Teas family, a wide-open green space, structures for kids to play, beautiful sculptures, and a butterfly garden.
