Sarah and Noah met on the turf field of Broadneck High School in the summer of 2014, playing pick up soccer with mutual friends, Cori Nye, Derek Alonso, and Nathan Saxon. Weeks later Noah and Derek would famously crash the annual family vacation to Rehoboth Beach. After driving nearly 3 hours in Derek's compact sports car and enduring an awkward introduction to Sarah's family, the boys had invested too much to drive home at sundown. They were resigned to sleeping on the front porch of the rental home where they were woken up bright and early by the front yard sprinklers. After laughing about the whole situation, Noah and Sarah made plans to see each other immediately after the family trip was over. They have been inseparable ever since.
In the summer of 2019, almost exactly 5 years after meeting and beginning their relationship, Sarah and Noah returned to Rehoboth Beach for another family vacation. Everyone laughed about being "back where it all began". While the humid, sweltering July heat was unbearable during the day, the night was perfect for a walk on the beach, complete with an ocean breeze and shooting stars. When Noah pulled out the ring he had been hiding, the timing had been just perfect. The rest of the night was spent back with Sarah's family, toasting to the engagement.
