Because you have played a significant role in our lives — or maybe we just really, really like you. This is going to be a rather small gathering of about 140pax. Even some of our family members didn't make the cut. Actually, half of them didn't :>
When we recount this story, a lot of you say it sounds like a K-drama scene. Well, here it is again for those who dk. Marklin was working towards residency as an astrophotographer/stargazing tour guide in Tekapo, NZ. Life was good, but the 390 permanent residents meant things got a little lonely sometimes, especially when he was the only Singaporean around. Meanwhile, Li Min was on a personal trip in NZ with her good friend Kimberley. They had planned a stargazing tour on their first night in Tekapo and a farm tour for day two. What could go wrong? Weather lor.. Marklin saw 2 Singaporeans joining the stargazing tour that night that he was leading, and he became visibly excited. But of course, the weather had other plans and the tour got canceled. His hope to chat with fellow Singaporeans was crushed. And since he was off the next day, his Singaporean craving had to wait. But here’s where it gets fun. Even though Marklin had a day off, he casually returned to work the next day, pretending to take photos for social media for the farm tour. Total excuse, and he knew it. As soon as he drove into the carpark, his eyes met Li Min's. And in that moment, only one thought filled his mind: "Damn, she cute leh." (For the record, Li Min thought the same about him) She told Kimberley, who then snuck two photos with Marklin in the background... Go to the next section later for the sneaky selfies. After the tour concluded, Kimberley became a solid wingwoman and went up to Marklin. "Eh, you’re Singaporean right? My friend thinks you’re cute. You want to have dinner together?" LOL. Less than a month later, after many video calls, Marklin and Li Min got together. Fun fact: they only spent about six hours together in person before that. Haha. If we’re being honest, Marklin didn’t think this relationship would last. He was still gunning for residency in NZ and it was her first relationship. Plus, long-distance? He hadn’t even tried that before, despite plenty of previous relationship experience. Look at how long they have come as a couple. So, join them on this small celebration with their closest! If you're invited, you're important. *Actual photo of the farm tour below.
