If you don't make it out to Wrigley, this is the place to get a real Chicago 'dog with all the fixings. Order it "dragged through the garden" to get the traditional onions, tomatoes, sport peppers, celery salt, that neon green relish and a whole dill pickle spear. For the lighter fare (at least, as "light" as Chicago is willing to go), both the Chopped and Garbage Salads are delicious. Regardless of whether you're going healthy or all-out, DO NOT skip the Chocolate Cake Shake. It is exactly what the name implies and it is life-altering.
This family-friendly haven is home to the Chicago Children's Museum, the Crystal Gardens, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, the Driehaus Gallery of Stained Glass and all the Chicago mini shops you could want. Don't forget to take a spin on the landmark Centennial Wheel.
It takes a brave man to walk out on the all-plexiglass ledge protruding from the 103rd floor of the second tallest building in America. Anyone who makes it through the winding, multi-floor line to see the insane skyline view and lives to tell about it, is a hero in our book!
Skip the pricey observation deck attraction, and head to teh Signature Room on the 95th Floor instead. Great drinks and food, the lines are shorter, admission is free and the views are just as spectacular (especially the ones from the ladies' room).
Looking for a great strip of bars and restaurants to explore? Try Hubbard Street. For our Lexington family, if you want to stay in the country set of mind, check out our favorite bar and restaurant, Bub City - with live country music!
