The Uptown offers free parking in the lot directly north, but Al Franken is performing in the main theater at the same time so it might fill up. Overflow parking is behind the Salvation Army regional headquarters building at 3637 Broadway. To get there, turn east onto the street marked "No Outlet" and "Dead End" directly across from the Valentine Apartments, at the crosswalk stop light. The lot will be on your left. Bonus: if you'd like to stop by our house for the afterparty, we face that lot and it'll be a quick walk back to your car at the end of the night!
Rather than going through the corner doors under the marquee, head a few doors south on Broadway to the doors marked 3700 Broadway. The Broadway Room is on the second floor (the large arched windows above the marquee), and the elevator or stairs can get you there. An attendant should be available to direct you if you need assistance.
Dressy casual attire. We want you to feel comfortable and happy in what you're wearing, so don't overthink it! FYI, Ryan won't be wearing a tie. Here's Emily Post's definition of "dressy casual," if it helps: https://emilypost.com/advice/attire-guide-dress-codes-from-casual-to-white-tie
Dancing shoes! We will have a live band featuring Laura’s uncle, Don Desmond, and would love to see you out on the dance floor if you’re able.
Sure! We'll be serving heavy hors d'oeuvres, so you can skip dinner and load up on those if you'd like. Or eat beforehand and just grab a few things to nibble. Either way, save space for the late night chicken finger bar.
We'll get started at 7:00 - we're not doing any sort of ceremony that requires promptness, so feel free to join us anytime after then. However, the band goes on at 8:30 and the bar closes up shop at 10:30, so strategize accordingly.
The party will be indoors, and we encourage every attendee to get the vaccine. If you are unvaccinated, we request that you wear a mask for your safety and the safety of others.
