Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Elle Mark and Josh Erickson
We are so excited to share one of our favorite places with you! The most fun way to get around is via the infamous New Orleans street cars, only $1.25 a ride! You purchase tickets or day passes once you board, but they are cash only (senior discounts available, and kids under 5 ride free). You can find their stops in your Maps / Google Maps apps. Uber and Lyft are also great, inexpensive options for travel. There is also a bike rental place located right next to our home base, The Margaret Place. Below are some of our recommendations, but the choices of food and drink are endless in NOLA!

Margaret Place

1133 Margaret Place, New Orleans, LA 70130

Our venue! Feel free to do a walk by during your stay to get familiar with the area.

Bourbon Street

Bourbon Street

Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA

You can't go wrong on Bourbon Street! Walk with purpose and you'll survive just fine ;) Live music, drinks, and street performers galore! Fun for everyone during the day, but consider it adults only once the sun goes down.

Frenchmen Street

Frenchmen Street

Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA

Frenchman Street is preferred by locals. It's a less chaotic and smaller version of Bourbon Street. This is where you'll find Elle if she's gone missing.

Jackson Square

Jackson Square

New Orleans, LA 70116

An iconic stop for your New Orleans trip! There's always a palm reader, street performer, or artist to entertain you while you take in the views.

21st Amendment Bar at La Louisiane

21st Amendment Bar at La Louisiane

725 Iberville Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

One of Josh's favorites! We highly recommend for the classic New Orleans experience.

Blue Nile

Blue Nile

532 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Elle's favorite bar! There's always great jazz music and great dancing.

Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar

Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar

941 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

The oldest bar in the United States! It was the first place Josh and Elle went together in New Orleans and where Kendall promptly asked him of his intentions. We love it here!

The Dungeon

The Dungeon

738 Toulouse Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Want to experience a New Orleans haunting experience? This is the place. Cryptic, dark, and you have to walk through an alley to get there - it's not for the faint of heart! Oh! And no photos allowed inside... They can't have evidence of the human skull behind the bar floating around ;)

Café Du Monde

Café Du Monde

813 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

This is the OG spot for beignets and coffee. Get there early, otherwise the line goes down the block! There are other locations that are a little less chaotic, but what's the fun in that?

Birdy's Behind The Bower

Birdy's Behind The Bower

1320 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Delicious breakfast with bottomless mimosas that slap. A little pricey for not a ton of food, but the vibes are 10/10.

Stein's Market and Deli

Stein's Market and Deli

2207 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Great for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Not too far from Margaret Place!

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119

Great po-boys!

Cornet

Cornet

700 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Right on Bourbon Street and has some of the best Cajun food.

Acme Oyster House

Acme Oyster House

724 Iberville Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

If you like oysters, this is Josh's recommendation. There will be oysters at the welcome party, but this is in case you need a little more while you're down south.

Antoine's Restaurant

Antoine's Restaurant

713 Saint Louis Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

NOLA's oldest restaurant! A little finer dining, like for a nice dinner.

The National WWII Museum

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Rated one of the greatest museums in the country, you'll want to carve out an entire day to visit The National WWII Museum. We look forward to touring it on our trip and will keep the group updated on when we plan to go!

Museum of Death New Orleans

Museum of Death New Orleans

227 Dauphine Street, New Orleans, LA 70112

There are lots of death, voodoo, and torture museums in New Orleans. This one is the most popular! We haven't been, so you'll have to let us know what you think!

For all the days along the way
