Essentially, the military and our personal friendships brought us together. We knew of each other through work and our enjoyment of playing softball but never made a personal connection until the summer of 2010, we started to work together, Tammy needing things to get done for work and me doing them...lol But it worked and once we got to know each other, it kind of took off on its own. Our similar likes and lifestyles made our relationship work. One thing we decided was that we were going to take it slow and keep us - as a couple - quiet and on the down low. But in the fall of 2011, we decided to make it public and she begged me to call her GIRLFRIEND! jk... Our lives have had its ups and downs, but as time went on, we grew closer, so much so to the point that it was the Mark & Tammy show wherever we went. Moving in together presented its tests and with her deployment in early 2019, it made us re-evaluate our commitment to one another and when 2021 came around, we were at an impasse...were we going to get married or just stay together for the foreseeable future...but, after some deliberate thoughts and prayer, I made the decision to ask her hand in marriage. A family trip to Biloxi in Jun 2021 set the stage for the proposal. On 14 Jun 2021 (the #14 being a very special number for us), in front of our family, I proposed to her but what seemed like an eternity and a full-on blank stare, she actually did say YES! After some back & forth, detailed thought process and a bit of venue hunting, we finally agreed on what would be our forever date of 22 Oct 2022…..and here we are....
