“We’re eloping to Canada!”

It was the middle of the pandemic and both of us had exhausted all of the dating apps to ever exist but something pulled us both back to one and we matched! For me, Mark’s eyes and genuine smile caught my attention. For Mark, my smile caught his. After some back and forth messaging we switched over to chatting on the phone. I took the call in my car while taking my dog Janie for a ride. The conversation went so well I got lost! I drove and drove and somehow ended up at Crowders Mountain! Mark and I laughed as I took turn upon turn finding my way out and over to the highway. We decided that this went so well we needed to meet! We met soon thereafter at the McDowell Nature Preserve. We parked in two different parking areas but as we made our way to each other both of us couldn’t stop smiling. All I could think of was, I hope he likes me because this guy is adorable! Mark thought to himself, this could work! Both of us happy we could meet during the pandemic, we sat at a picnic table at the lake with our Starbucks and talked for hours. Towards the end of our date Mark asked the question I was hoping for…would you like to go out again? I think y’all know what my answer was! And here we are 4 years later, getting married! 💕
