Shuttle from Ithaca to Aurora: We will provide a shuttle to the ceremony that will leave from the Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons at 3:45 PM. Shuttle from Aurora back to Ithaca: There will be a shuttle that will leave Aurora Inn after the reception at 11:00 PM and another leaving at 12:30 PM for those who stay for the after-party. Uber and Lyft are active in the Finger Lakes now, but please keep in mind that it's rural, so pick-up wait times may be longer than you're used to.
If you're staying at the Inns of Aurora, please park at the property that you're staying at. Otherwise, there is a lot just south of the Aurora Inn, and unrestricted street parking throughout the village.
For all rooms, check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
We don't have a strict dress code but we recommend semi-formal or cocktail attire (just make sure you'll be comfortable for an evening of food, drink, and dancing!)
While we love your children and would love to watch them run and play lakeside, we kindly ask that the ceremony and reception are for adults only. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our special day. We understand that this might not be feasible for every family situation, so if this is an issue or for babysitting recommendations in the area, please do not hesitate to contact us!
Yes! In August, the water temperature of Cayuga Lake averages around 71 degrees, so make sure to bring your swimsuits! If you're staying at the Inns, there are kayaks and canoes available for use. You can also contact the staff about half and full-day private boat rentals or fishing charters. There is also lake access from Long Point State Park (in Aurora), Frontenac Park, John Harris Park (north of Aurora) and Lansing Myers Park (south of Aurora).
