The first time that I saw him all I could think about was how big of a dork he was, but I gave him a chance anyway. On our first date he gave me only an address and told me to meet him there at 7PM. Reluctantly I showed up thinking I would only stay there for an hour. When we got there he awkwardly walked me below a stuffed white deer head and began texting people. Shortly after a man arrived and said "Come with me." At this moment I knew I was being murdered. Once we got to the back of the restaurant and I said the magic word "Open Sesame" and the door opened into a speakeasy. After a massive relief set over me we proceeded to talk and laugh for the rest of the night. As soon as I saw his smile, laugh, and saw those blue eyes up close, and knew I wasn't being murdered, I knew I was hooked. That hour we planned to stay turned into closing down the bar and we haven't spent longer than two days apart since (well minus his trips).
This girl kept wanting to get coffee with me but little did she know I didn't like coffee. I decided I would be mysterious and give her the coordinates to this speakeasy and surprise her with a fun date. She literally texted me that she would be late and my heart sank. Once she showed up (after I called her and my mom's name showed up on her phone - thanks Verizon) I had to play off the awkward standing under this deer head. I was texting the speakeasy folks that we were there (looking back maybe not the best surprise - she probably thought she would be murdered). However once we were seated and got to talking I knew she was special. We both went in with the lowest of expectations and came out planning the next month of dates and when we would get to see each other again. The rest is history.
