From the moment our mutual friends introduced us at the University of Maryland, there was an instant connection at a much deeper level than the two of us even realized at the time. Our first official date was to a Nationals baseball game on a summer day in 95 degree weather. We hardly even noticed the heat, as time seems to fly by when we're together. 5 quick years later, we are very excited to be getting married and spending the rest of our lives together as Husband and Wife!
Half way through 2020 and a vacation with family to Yosemite was all we could think about. We were so excited to see everyone and just spend time with family in a beautiful place. After a full day of traveling to Yosemite, we arrived at a beautiful cabin and visited with family and made the plan to hike the next day in Yosemite Valley. Little did Meghan know that was not all we would be doing that day! I was pretty unsettled in the car, and even fake laughed at one of Meghan's jokes (Meghan noticed and was not happy), but I was able to convince Meghan I was car sick due to windy roads leading into Yosemite. Passing through the Yosemite Tunnel the view was breath taking. The original plan was to have the proposal at a different spot in the park, but the view and the surprising lack of people at Tunnel View gave me an opportunity I couldn't pass up. Meghan scooted me over so she could be on her good side, oblivious to the fact that I was fumbling around in my pocket. Then, it all gets a little blurry, but the outcome is amazing. Two best friends are now engaged and ready to get married right then and there. Meghan was beaming for the rest of the day, and was also very anxious about losing the engagement ring while venturing on a 15 mile hike right after the proposal.
