During the fall of 2020 in the peak of covid, Mark and his four roommates set their sights on befriending their next door neighbors at Purdue - Meg and her nine roommates. What started as socially distanced, outdoor hangouts slowly turned into a real friendship between the two houses. Somewhere along the way, that group friendship led to Mark sending Meg an Instagram DM to a first date at Jimmy Johns. Thankfully Veronica (one of Meg's roommates at the time) told her to ditch the dinner she was already eating to join Mark instead. It turned out to be the first of many great meals and even better conversations. And, in case you were wondering, Jess, Julia, and Veronica just happened to do a casual drive-by during that first date - very subtle. After their time at Purdue together, the long distance adventure began. Meg moved to North Carolina while Mark traveled the U.S. in his camper van (seeing 46/50 states)! After 2 years, they both moved to the Boston area and are finally together again. Now, they're making it official!
