Mark and Kyshira met in 2020 in Murfreesboro, TN through a mutual friend. Only a day into their encounter, Mark attempted to call Kyshira “Keke,” in which she spicyily let Mark know that nickname was reserved for friends and family only. Mark continued anyway—setting the tone for what would become a dynamic friendship. Not long after meeting, Mark, who was beginning his first year as Campus Missionary, reached out to Kyshira about partnering in ministry. Though hesitant due to finances, Kyshira felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to say yes. On Thursday, August 13, 2020, Kyshira partnered with Mark—unaware this would be the first of many yeses and the beginning of a deeper partnership only God could orchestrate. Over the years, their friendship grew through shared experiences: vacations turned mission trips, walking down the aisle together in two of their best friends wedding, and spontaneous Nashville meet-ups. On Thursday, August 15, 2024, Mark realized his feelings had grown beyond friendship. However Kyshira wasn’t ready to take the friendship to a new level so they remained friends. After a season of prayer and waiting on both sides, in July 2025 a mission trip to Bolivia became the turning point—where honest conversation led to a mutual desire for a romantic relationship rooted in honoring God and building His Kingdom. Mark and Kyshira went on their first official date on Thursday, August 14, 2025, beginning their courtship. On December 20, 2025, Mark proposed, surrounded by close friends and family. On May 1, 2026, they will enter into a covenant of marriage before loved ones—a testimony that God truly works all things together for good, and that His timing is always perfect.
