FAQs

Question

What is the weather like in Maine in July?

Answer

It changes every year! In general it is pretty mild, in the 70s and warm in the sun and cooler down to low 60s in the evenings, and occasionally, it can be quite chilly on a summer evening. We recommend packing layers and checking the weather for Readfield when you are packing!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Party: Semi-Formal Attire. Wedding Ceremony & Reception: Formal Attire. Our reception will be on grass so we recommend a thicker heel or wedges. Farewell Brunch: Casual attire. Bring a swimsuit if you would like to enjoy the lake! We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for all events as it can cool off in the evenings.

Question

Can we bring our little ones?

Answer

We love your kiddos so very much and children are warmly welcome at our wedding Mass but our lakeside reception will be an adults-only evening, with the exception of our wedding party. Thank you for your understanding—it means so much to us! Please reach out to Katie or Mark if you need assistance finding a baby sitter.

Question

Will there be parking at the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, for those driving, there is plenty of parking at the church for the ceremony and complimentary overnight parking at the reception venue!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will be indoors but our reception will be outdoors, tented.

Question

What kind of duck is pictured on the Save The Date?

Answer

It's not a duck...it's a Maine Loon! And if you're staying on any of the many lakes nearby...you will definitely hear their call every night! The Maine loon is an emblem of the state, known for its gentle, echoing call that settles peacefully over quiet lakes. A true Maine staple, it adds a touch of charm and character to the long summer days by the water.
