We’re also very lucky to have secured a block of rooms at the beautiful David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa, located right on the banks of the Zambezi River. The lodge offers elegant facilities, a riverside deck for unforgettable sunsets, and a serene pool and spa to unwind in - making it a wonderful space to relax during the wedding celebrations. For our group, we have been allocated 16 Deluxe Rooms. These spacious, stylish rooms come with private balconies overlooking the river, air-conditioning, and all the comforts you could need for a special stay. - 2 night package = sharing $750 and single $525 - 3 night package = sharing $990 and single $720 The lodge is located right next door to The Victoria Falls Waterfront, connected by a small bridge, so it’s just an easy walk across. This means all transfers and group activities departing from the Waterfront will still be simple and seamless. As with the Waterfront, we’ve been fortunate to be given a significant discount on accommodation rates. Once everything is finalized, instructions to arrange payment directly with the lodge will be made available to you.
Flight
You can fly into either Livingstone, Zambia or Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. If arriving in Zimbabwe, it’s a short 20-minute taxi ride (about $30) to the Zambian border ... (still waiting to hear if transfers will be included in the accommodation rate) - just remember that visa fees apply if you don’t hold a SADC passport. Airlines flying into both airports include Safair, Airlink, SAA, FastJet, and CemAir, with Proflight Zambia also offering a lovely direct flight from Cape Town to Livingstone.
Flight
International flights arrive at Victoria Falls (as above, $30 taxi to the border) or straight into Livingstone. Airline options include Qatar, Ethiopian Airlines, British Airways, and Kenya Airways, with connections via Addis, Nairobi, Johannesburg or Lusaka. Proflight offers easy links to Livingstone from Lusaka.
Rental Car
For the adventurous souls that would like to drive, YAY. Please reach out to either of us for more information. Our advice would be to drive through Botswana, spending the night in Francistown. You would then enter Zambia at the Kazungula border. If you want more of an adventure, camp your way up through Bots/Zim and find your way to Livingstone.
Travel Note
Transport to and from any of the wedding festivities will be provided for, with the pick-up/drop off points being The Victoria Falls Waterfront. If you are landing in Victoria Falls, please chat to us and we will arrange transfers to the border. If you are landing in Livingstone, also chat to us and we will arrange transfers to your accommodation...(as mentioned we are still trying to get this set up and possibly included in the accommodation rate).
