We always like to give an elaborate story of how Mark was leaving H-E-B and noticed a runaway cart that made a car swerve towards an elderly man and Mark jumps out and saves him. While jumping, he caught Karina's eye and he winked at her as she gasped at his heroic feat. She runs towards him to see if he is ok and he says, "I will be after you give your number"... In reality we met online. But it's a cool story right?

We decided to meet at a restaurant called Smashing Crab on Mark's favorite day Friday the 13th. Mark wooed Karina over with his Dungeons and Dragon knowledge, his broke perception of time and his watch, and throwing shrimp at her while eating dinner. And Mark was impressed she did not walk away halfway through the date, she even offered to get drinks afterwards! She knew he was a keeper when he said, "Look , Its my first day off, I just got paid, and we ordered some good food! If you do not want to see me after this, I don't care. It's totally fine! Lets just eat this food and enjoy ourselves tonight!" …. Sounds good to me!
