The begining

According to Kaitlyn

On February 7, 2020, I was brave enough to attend a movie night at the home of my boss, Steven Inabnit. My coworkers had been teasing me about Steven's (super cute) blue-eyed, brown haired roommate, Mark Libby so of course I ended up in the only available seat...right next to Mark. Despite telling everyone we weren't interested, that week I told my friend Molly I though maybe I would marry Mark Libby and Mark rode his motorcycle to our next group hangout...but, not to impress me of course.

Can my girlfriend come?

please treat yourself to some John Mulaney

We endured a lot of awkward hangouts over the next few months. Finally, I got tired of all the "will they wont they," and took matters into my own hands. I asked Mark out to ice cream. Unfortunately, that was in March of 2020, and a global pandemic that sent me home to Oregon interrupted our plans. However, COVID, and the 939 miles of distance, gave Mark and I a chance to actually talk and start getting to know each other, without the pressure of our friends. So, when I came down to California in April of 2020, he asked me to (finally) go get ice cream and few days later, on April 26, 2020 we started dating.

two years, six states, four jobs, five apartments

again, Kaitlyn's perspective

After four months of long distance, I moved back down to California. The first year, Mark was working at Calvary Community Church and I worked as a copywriter for a logistics company. Last summer, Mark transitioned to the Master's University as the Campus Production Manager and I moved to Children's Hunger Fund as the Marketing Coordinator, Mark joined me at Oak Hill Bible Church where we both are serving and living life alongside other believers. Our year and a half of dating included watching our best friends get married, navigating job changes, moving, going on camping trips, building life-long friendships, visiting family, adventures, beach days, 10-mile hikes, tons of coffee, and french fries, of course.

She said yes...then he asked.

Mark's not much for writing

On November 24, 2021, Mark and I were on our way up the coast to visit my family in OR for Thanksgiving. Driving on the 101 on the Oregon coast as the sun was going down, we stopped at a beach called Boardman State Park. We hiked down towards the edge of the cliffs. I was admiring the beautiful rock formations and taking in the sunset, while behind me, Mark was setting up a camera, for what I thought was our normal date polaroid photo. Instead he walked over, pulled out a ring, got down on one knee, and just....stared at me, I yelled "yes," and then realized he hadn't even asked me. Eventually he did and I said yes again!

The big day

7.16.22

In all of the hard, funny, sweet, and fun moments of our story, Mark and I know that the Lord has been shaping us into two people who can better love and serve Him and each other. We are so thankful for the way God has directed us to one another and brought us to where we are. We can't wait to celebrate the faithfulness of God in our lives with our closest family and friends. Thank you for loving and supporting us so well. We can't wait for July 16, 2022.

For all the days along the way
