The ceremony and celebration afterwards will be held under the redwoods in Oakland, CA.
Yes, everything will be outdoors surrounded by beautiful redwood trees! There will be shade and seating, but we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap in case it gets breezy. There will be no tent so we can fully enjoy the scenery!
Early November in the Oakland redwoods is cool, crisp, and peaceful. Expect daytime highs around 60–70 °F (15–21 °C) — mild in the sun but cooler in the shade. Mornings and evenings are chilly, around 45–55 °F (7–13 °C). Light rain or mist is possible, and coastal fog may drift through the trees.
Semi-formal attire is perfect! Since we’ll be outdoors among the redwoods, we recommend comfortable shoes or wedges (no stilettos as it's mostly grass and dirt paths).
RAIN OR SHINE, we're getting married!
Yes! There is on-site parking available for $5 a vehicle. We recommend carpooling if you can. A parking attendant will help direct you upon arrival.
Your presence is the best gift! But if you'd like to bless us with something extra, we kindly ask for monetary gifts only as we save toward our future together. You can Venmo us at: @kaiiilen or @Medina-mark-7
Thai food! Our favorite!
Since we're celebrating in the beautiful redwoods, there are some restrictions - so it won’t be a traditional reception with a DJ or loud music. But don’t worry, we still plan to have fun games, casual dancing, and a great time with music played through a curated playlist (hello, Spotify!). It’ll be laid-back, nature-inspired, and full of love and laughter.
Please plan to arrive 15–30 minutes early to allow time for parking and finding your seat before the ceremony begins.
There’s plenty to do nearby! Check out Chabot Space & Science Center, Redwood Regional Park, Lake Merritt, Jack London Square, and Montclair Village for food, nature, and local charm.
