This church has a lot of significance to Jolyn. Like many of her cousins, she will be the 5th generation in her maternal line to get married at Sts. Peter & Paul. This began with her great-great grandmother Catherina Schreiner who was born at sea coming to the United States, and was united in marriage to Nicolaus Kilburg in 1875. This was followed by great-grandparents Julia & Mathew, grandparents Alvina & Eldon, and parents Pat & Ken. Jolyn has been dreaming of getting married in the family church for many years and the time has come!
Our reception is at 7 Hills Ballroom in Dubuque. Please note there is also 7 Hills Event Center and 7 Hills Brewing Company, all of which are close by. The Ballroom is on Washington Street (1050 Washington St), between 10th & 11th Streets. There is a parking garage at 9th & Washington St which charges $1/hr or $10/day. There are also 3 parking lots immediately surrounding the venue with free parking on Saturday.
The reception will be in Dubuque and we recommend looking at options in the area, as well as a short drive away, as we've found that hotel prices are elevated during the summer in Dubuque. We recommend booking accommodations as soon as you've made plans. There are some decent Airbnb options as well near the venue. We do have some rooms at the Best Western Plus Dubuque Hotel & Conference Center. The cutoff date to reserve is July 8. The meal will be served buffet style with two protein options. More details to come as we finalize the menu selections closer to the wedding. Children 10 & under will receive a child's plate (chicken strips & fries). If you need a vegetarian option, please let one of us know. Thanks!

One thing we're so excited about is being surrounded by those we love on our wedding day. We want you to enjoy the day and be present, especially during the wedding Mass, which is so important to the two of us. We have a request: we've hired an amazing photographer who will be capturing the day, and we're inviting each of you to sit back, relax, and enjoy witnessing our wedding. We're respectfully asking that everyone consider leaving devices off. If you want to take a couple of photos, you're welcome to, just please keep those to a minimum so there's no distraction for the photographer or for us as we look out at all of your beautiful faces!
