In typical DC fashion, Mark and Jackson met online and after several weeks of messaging back and forth, they decided to go on their first date at Southern Hospitality in Adams Morgan. After hours of conversation and fine wine, they decided to go out for another date. The rest is history. Since first meeting in March 2017, Mark and Jackson have traveled the world from Canada to the Bahamas and throughout the United States. Their relationship has grown deeper as they have explored together, made lifelong connections with family and friends, and challenged each other to achieve personal, academic, and career goals. The engagement story is a bit unconventional. After spending serious time thinking about their future plans, Jackson and Mark decided to peruse David Yurman one rainy Sunday afternoon in October. After trying on several different rings, it just so happened that both of their choices happened to be in stock and in their size. Right then and there, Mark and Jackson decided to take the next step toward a life of commitment and love with one another.
