The Proposal

February 12th, 2018

The plan was to do it during our big trip to Wales in February. I had bought the ring a few months before the trip and had to keep it secret the whole way over. The biggest hurdle was going to be getting it past airport security. When we were in line I quickly broke away form Hannah, saying "that line is shorter, I will meet you on the other side!" My bag was immediately flagged by the TSA agents. The agent asked me if I had anything in my bag, "yes, an engagement ring for my girlfriend, who is right behind me with the blonde hair" she was just clearing her security line. The agent was completely understanding and very discreet about checking my bag (he still had to make sure it wasn't a bomb). Once we were on the plane, we were off. A few days later we were hiking, eating, and drinking in Wales, but I was waiting for one specific hike. Worm's Head. A large island that is only accessible during a small window of low tide when the ocean recedes revealing a path. We had only three hours to reach the end and make it back before the ocean would cut us off. The weather was not looking great most of the hike, until we reached the very end. The sun came out and we had all of Wales behind us. After getting down on one knee to ask her a quick question and an emotional exchange of trying to get an answer through the tears, we were officially engaged and had to run back before the ocean left us on the island.

For all the days along the way
