We met one fall day in October, 2020 as I was walking my dog Prince and Mark was walking with his friend Joe and his dog Rambo. We made small talk and I recognized him. I explained we may have been in the same congregation years ago. He seemed surprised that I would remember him. I thought who forgets tall, dark and handsome…In the months since he teases me that I stalked him on Facebook, but actually I friended him to find out what he has been up to all these years. It was Mark who texted he had hoped to run into me on a walk again.
We had been looking for rings for a while, but we had seen so many rings that we couldn’t decide on a ring. But I loved a ring that the description said it had been in a Jewelry store safe from a store closure and they were just getting around to putting the stock for sale. I felt it had just been waiting for me for many years. Of course, it had to be sized so when it arrived we decided to go ahead and size it and have them soldered together, but it would be a few days. Mark had decided to ask me to marry him on 2/10/2021. That evening, I handed him the ring and said it was ready. He said, that was great he handed me a card on the card front it said, “And at just the right time came just the right love”, with a wedding ring. Inside says, “No one knows exactly how it happens, no one knows exactly why it’s true. But some people are just meant to find each other and someday, somewhere, somehow they always do! He explained, I’m sorry we don’t have your rings, this will have to work for now. Will you be my wife? I said, “yes” and he put the real rings that I handed him on my finger.
