Our Wedding

Mark and Christiana’s story is one that could only have been written by God. They first met in 2017 when Mark traveled from Australia to visit his American cousins. During that visit, he met Christiana. What began as a simple introduction quickly turned into an effortless friendship. They spent those days laughing, talking, and creating memories that felt easy and natural—as though they had known each other far longer than they actually had. But life has a way of pulling people in different directions. When Mark returned to Australia, distance took over. They stayed in touch occasionally, but as the years passed, careers and responsibilities filled their lives. Slowly, their conversations faded, and eventually the friendship became just a memory. Five years later, in early 2022, God quietly brought their paths together again. Mark returned to the United States for two family celebrations: his American cousin’s wedding and his Australian cousin’s proposal. When Christiana saw him again after so many years, a wave of memories came rushing back. But something was different this time. Mark was quieter, more reserved. The easy friendship they once had had changed into something deeper—something unspoken. They would occasionally exchange glances. There was a playful tension in the air, as if both of them sensed that the story between them wasn’t finished yet. Then, two days before Mark was scheduled to return to Australia, everything changed. At his cousin’s wedding reception, Mark walked up to Christiana and told her something that took her completely by surprise: he had asked for her father’s blessing to take her on a date. Stunned but smiling, she said yes. That first date made something instantly clear to both of them. Conversation flowed effortlessly. Their values aligned perfectly. What followed was four years of long distance in order for Christiana to finish her dental schooling before getting marries. It wasn’t always easy, but it strengthened their relationship in ways they never expected. They built a foundation rooted in love, respect, patience, and faith in God’s timing. Across oceans and time zones, they grew closer and more certain that God had brought them together for a reason. Then, on September 14, 2024, Mark proposed in Christiana’s favorite place in the world: Jordan. In a place so meaningful to her heart, she said yes to the man she knew she was meant to spend her life with. Now, their story has come full circle. They are preparing to be married in the very same reception hall where Mark first asked Christiana on a date. What began as a quiet moment of courage and faith has led them here—to a life together. With grateful hearts, they believe their journey is a testament to God’s perfect timing. And it is their greatest joy and honor to celebrate the beginning of their marriage surrounded by the people they love most.
