Things To Do
Pokagon State Park
We went here early on when dating and again about a year later with Bethany's dog Rye. It's fun to do the Hell's Point Challenge! 8.2 mile hike around the park. They also have a beach and can swim in the lake. There is a fee to enter the state park, $7 per Indiana car and $9 per out-of-state car.
Chain O’ Lakes State Park
We went kayaking here in the first few months of dating. Fun and beautiful area. We later went back in the fall to hike around a few of the lakes. There is a fee to enter the park, $7 per Indiana car and $9 per out-of-state car. Additional cost if renting a canoe, paddleboat, kayak, and rowboat.
Country Heritage Winery
This is where Mark met Bethany's parents for the first time! Great local winery with a wide selection of wines. Beautiful outdoor patio and seating. They typically have live music on the weekends.
Copper Forge Distilling
This is a fun local distillery owned by one of Bethany's coworkers! Fantastic cocktails. Great place to stop by before dinner, as they currently just have snack and no full menu. Also, check the hours as typically they are only open on Friday and Saturday nights.
Summit City Brewerks
We go here frequently for trivia nights with friends! Have also brought both family's here when they were in town visiting. Large beer selections and some with fun unique flavors! Great place to get a beer flight.
