Brittany and Mark met back in 5th grade where Mark constantly got Brittany, who was a well behaved child, in trouble on the daily. Brittany saw something in Mark because they stayed friends all through school and into their college days. Even though they wouldn't see each other regularly, they spoke on the phone nearly everyday in college and into their adulthood. Brittany has always been the one to keep Mark grounded and be his biggest supporter. She also shares Mark's love the country music they grew up on. You can find them singing Shania Twain in the car at any given moment!
Mark's Maid of Honor
Kaydee and Mark met on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ waiting in line at a Lady Gaga concert. They instantly connected and formed a forever bond. After the show, Kaydee and Mark stayed in contact and would visit each other in Boone and Columbia, SC. Kaydee is also a cat lover like Mark, so they are always talking about their cats to each other. Even though Kaydee now lives in Charleston, they see each other frequently and talk on the phone nearly everyday. They have a love for dancing together and spending chill nights in binge watching rom-coms.
Austin's Maid of Honor
Katie and Austin met at Appalachian State University during Austin's first year. Since then, Austin and Katie have been getting into all sorts of fun situations from late night drives to south Florida to sea kayaking in Cancun. Katie is one of those friends who you can always rely on to be there when you need her. She is a fierce supporter, avid equestrian, dog and cat mom, and above all a wonderful friend and Austin’s Person of Honor. From bear eggs to meat sticks, Katie is Austin’s go to when he needs a laugh, a shoulder to cry on, or a friend. Austin owes a lot to Katie and he is so excited to share his special day with her.

Andrea and Mark met at Appalachian State where Mark was getting his degree. He instantly knew that Andrea would be a forever friend by her endearing and welcoming personality. They would spent every free minute together and were inseparable. Andrea knew that Mark hated the cold, so she would frequently pick Mark up so he went to class when it was snowing outside. From indirectly planning each others engagement to snuggle nights watching American Horror Story, she has been a pivotal part in Mark's life. Lastly, he just celebrated the marriage of Andrea and her wife Kaila in October!
Austin's Wedding Party
Kaila and Austin met long before they were actually friends at Appalachian State University. Over time, Kaila and Austin built a loving friendship while Mark and Andrea stirred up trouble. Austin and Kaila share a love of cats, good food, fun nights out with friends and quality gin. Kaila is a fun loving, creative soul who balances out Austin’s high strung tendencies. Kaila has a wonderful eye for the finer things in life and refines every moment to be the best it can be. In October 2019, Austin had the honor of being in Kaila’s wedding party as she married the woman of her dreams. Now it’s Austin’s turn, and he couldn’t be more excited to have Kaila in his crew!

Leslie and Mark have been friends since Mark began his teaching career. In the beginning, Leslie took Mark under her wings and helped him learn how to be a good teacher. Fast forward a few years and these two have taken several trips together where they drag their respective partners along. Leslie has stuck out TWO Lady Gaga concerts with Mark and they recently went to Miami to see Madonna. Leslie is the friend that will drop everything to help you and everyone knows how needy Mark can be. With Mark and Austin's recent house purchase, Leslie and Mark frequently carpool together where they start their mornings singing Celine Dion and informing each other about what their pets have been doing.

Jessyka is Mark's younger sister and has always been there for Mark. As young children, they would go through the normal cycle of best friends and worst of enemies. As they grew up, they began to appreciate one another and support each other through everything. Jessyka is always there to vent to, complain or even cry to when Mark needs her. She has seen him at rock bottom and at the top. She is the best sister anyone could ask for.

Amy and Austin met at Appalachian State University in 2010 and quickly became friends while serving on the East Hall Student Council. For whatever reason, Amy has stuck around through the years despite visits from a terrifying rat, spilled bottles of febreeze and tickle attacks all courtesy of Austin. Amy is always willing to go on adventure and loves to travel. Despite living in DC, Amy and Austin always manage to keep in touch, visiting each other often and making the most of what we travels they embark on together. Amy is a wonderful, thoughtful, loving, and loyal friend you can always count on. Austin is beyond excited to have her in his wedding party!

Jocelyn and Austin were friends before they were friends. Before they met, everyone would tell the other, “Oh, you two would love each-other!” And they weren’t wrong! Jocelyn took Austin on his first trip to Nola and since then, the two have cooked numerous gourmet meals, spent many thanksgivings together, complained about politics and gone on romantic Valentine’s Day dates. Despite the distance, Austin and Jocelyn can always pick up right where they left off, talking about nothing and everything at the same time. Jocelyn is one of those people who can talk to you about anything and always brightens a room when she walks in. Jocelyn is a true friend and an amazing part of Austin’s life!

Kat and Austin are in school together at UNC and became friends through the adversity of dental school. Despite the strain that school puts on Kat and Austin, they always manage to have fun and make the most of every situation. Kat is one of those people who is always going to make a situation fun and someone who is incredibly smart. Kathryn and Austin went to Moldova together in spring of 2019 to treat local children, and the two made the most of their experience there. Since then, Austin and Kat are essentially inseparable, frequently seen throughout the dental school hanging out with their favorite professors, debating patient care and getting into trouble. Austin is so excited to have Kat be a part of the wedding and share in this amazing experience!
