We will be livestreaming our wedding ceremony so that all of you can be a part of our big day! Copy and paste the following link into your browser to view it: https://youtu.be/HjU27hEX_kA The video will go live on Saturday, July 18th, at 6pm CT. We're looking forward to being with y'all in spirit!
We know many of you have been wondering what we're doing about our wedding. We've been wondering that too! After talking through many different plans during the last few weeks, here is what we've finally settled on (thanks for your patience!). We've decided to try to have a small ceremony with our immediate families and bridal party on July 18, 2020. We say *try* because, of course, nothing is certain during this time. In the event that a July ceremony is not feasible, our back-up plan is to postpone the ceremony to Labor Day weekend. We love all of you so much and still want you to be a part of our wedding day, so we will be livestreaming the ceremony! ALSO, we really do want to celebrate with all of you in person, so we're going to have a reception/one-year-anniversary-celebration in the summer of 2021. We hope the world will be a little less chaotic then, and will allow for us all to come together for a fun day of dancing, eating, and reminiscing together. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. We will let you know via email of any updates or changes to the plan. Check the Schedule or FAQ page in July for directions on how to access the livestream, and look out for a detailed invitation for next summer's reception at a later date. We are praying for your health and well-being during this time, and are looking forward to seeing you next summer, if not sooner! Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We love you!
"We were both young, when I first saw you I close my eyes, and the flashback starts..." Jk, there's no flashback. We don't remember the first time we met! However, upon some reflection, we have deduced that we probably met at Community Bible Church in Nashville in the fall of 2014, when Mark was a freshman and Ariana was a sophomore (we're the same age, but Mark took a gap year after high school). We became good friends, connecting both at church and at Vanderbilt through the campus ministry we were involved in called The Navigators (Navs for short). We would often get lunch and talk about everything from our favorite book series to the finer points of theology. We enjoyed our friendship and didn't think anything more about it... Until Ariana asked Mark to her sorority's formal in the spring of 2015. She asked him to go just as friends, of course, but by the end of the night, we were both secretly admiring the other person, wondering if they felt the butterflies, too. Fast forward about 6 months, and Mark and Ariana almost started dating! But then we didn't (ask us more about that story!). Although we were a little disappointed, it was for the best, as the Lord grew us both individually over the next year. And on November 17, 2016, we started dating for real <3 There have been many ups and downs for us over the last 3 years of dating. We have seen each other at our lowest points, and have both been amazed at the love and grace that the other person has shown us in those places. We have adventured together through state parks and highways, admiring sunsets and waterfalls. We have fought and made up; hurt and forgiven. Through it all, one thing remains certain: Our God is faithful, loving, and gracious towards us sinners. All glory, honor, and praise be to the One who sustains us and holds us in His hands.
