As much as we’d love to share this special day with friends & family, we are unable to do so based on the current restrictions regarding Covid-19. Mark and Annalise plan to wed mountain side with an officiant & photographer; to capture every loving moment. We are excited for this unique & intimate elopement, but will undoubtedly miss the presence of our loved ones. It would be our honor to host the reception of our dreams in the Spring of 2022. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you, when it is safe enough to do so.
Mark and Annalise met at Overlake Hospital, when Annalise was working as a patient caregiver & Mark was assisting a family member after surgery. He liked her bubbly, compassionate personality; and she was attracted to his intelligence & mysterious demeanor. They went on their first date to a Mexican bar in Seattle a few days later. Mark was happily surprised when she was the first one to make a move, planting a big kiss on him in the middle of dinner. He has always said he knew it was love at first sight, but it took her a few weeks longer to admit it.
It was no surprise when Mark and Annalise were soon to be engaged— they had been ring shopping several weeks before hand. What did come as a surprise was the mini-hike to a waterfall in Birkenstocks, and the Bed & Breakfast overlooking Mount Hood to accompany. Mark nervously held her hand as he walked her to Panther Creek Falls, in the southern aspect of the Gifford-Pinchot Forest, on the Washington state line. He took his opportunity to have the proposal video taped, as another couple asked to swap photo sessions. As he got down on one knee and shakily declared “I’ve never done this before”, he managed to open a little white box, hold her hand and ask “Will you marry me?”, to which she exclaimed YES!
We have a road trip planned to Eureka, Montana, We have been waiting for an opportunity to explore this area, as neither of us have been. We are lucky enough to stay at The Wilderness Club Resort— private cabins (with private hot tubs!) right on a lake. We plan to take a sunset horse ride through the mountains, receive spa treatments, and explore nearby hiking trails. We are stoked to adventure and relax as newlyweds for 5 days.
