1. What is the dress code?

Answer

We would like all of our guests to wear all black mostly Formal attire to our vow renewal. The best examples of acceptable attire are: For Men: Black suit with a black tie or bowtie. For Women: Black floor length dresses/gowns. Elegant midi length gowns are also acceptable.

2. What's the best way to RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP Through our RSVP tab. If you are unable to RSVP here, please do so directly with the couple.

3. When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than June 30, 2023.

4. Can I bring additional guests/children?

Answer

All invitations include the names of all guests invited (including children). Unfortunately, due to limited seating, invitations are limited to those specified guests only. Named guests may not be “swapped” with unnamed guests. Please reach out to the couple directly with any questions.

5. Will there be childcare provided for children?

Answer

Yes, there will be a separate space with professional childcare provided for guests with children included in their invitation. There will also be activities provided to keep them busy all night!

6. What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The venue will open to guests about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. So we are asking our guests to please arrive to the ceremony at least 20 minutes prior to the ceremony start time to allow some time to get settled before the ceremony begins.

7. Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

Answer

Yes, of course! However, please share them with us by tagging your photo with #TheMasonsIDox2

8. Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will be held inside the main hall of the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth. However, the cocktail hour will be held outdoors on the venue's deck.

9. What will your wedding-day timeline look like?

Answer

We expect our Vow Renewal ceremony to take a little less than an hour. Afterwards, our guests will proceed to the deck for cocktail hour. After an hour of socializing and eating hors d'oeuvres, our guests will be ushered to the main hall to find their seats for the reception. While we are still finalizing some of the details of the night, we plan to begin serving dinner around 5:30pm. Then, after we all have partied until our feet hurt, we will exit at 9:30pm.

10. How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?

Answer

Any changes to the current plans for this event will be communicated via text and with updates to our website.

11. Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?

Answer

Yes, please see the travel tab for additional information.

12. How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation or parking services be provided?

Answer

We have not acquired shuttle services for the renewal. For more information, please see the travel tab for our suggestions for getting around during your visit. However, there will be valet on site for your convenience. Please feel free to tip your valet.

13. What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

We'll be serving a buffet of light hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour with adult beverages served at the bar. Please feel free to tip our bartenders. Children’s drinks during cocktail hour will be served separately. Cocktail hour will be followed by a plated dinner and self-serve desserts.

14. I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

15. Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, we are providing an open bar with beer, wine, and signature cocktails. Please feel free to tip the bartender.

16. What will the weather be like?

Answer

While we can't predict the exact forecast for our special day. The weather during the summer months, in Portsmouth, in past years is typically moderately hot 84°F. With an average low-temperature of 73°F. However, we encourage our guests to check the weather forecast as the date gets closer for the most accurate prediction.

17. I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in Hampton Roads, VA?

18. Do you have a wedding registry? Can I bring a gift to the ceremony?

Answer

We have linked our registry and anniversary celebration fund on the Registry tab. We would greatly appreciate all gifts be shipped directly to our home. However, please feel free to bring your gift to the ceremony if you prefer. We sincerely thank you in advance.
