What Beach Should You Go To? If you're willing to get there pretty early (8/9am), we recommend the free beach to the right of Little Monmouth Beach Club (29 Ocean Ave, Monmouth Beach). You can park on the neighborhood streets across from the beach club parking lot (members only) and walk over the sea wall on the far right hand corner of the beach club parking lot. You can also venture into Sea Bright to access one of the beaches there ($8 per person). Parking typically is luck of the draw if you're not there bright and early, so if you can't park close to the beach, we typically park on the other side of the Rumson Bridge (Shrewsbury River Bridge) in the nighborhood next to the church and hike over. Plug in this address for the beach access pt (909 Ocean Ave, Sea Bright) Lastly, you can also go down to Sandy Hook for more free beaches, but to park is $15 per car. When in doubt, ask a local!
Visit Red Bank for shopping, great restaurants, coffee or cocktails! Some of our favorite spots off of Broad Street include: Red Bank Bistro - our go-to delicious BYOB dinner spot Robinson's Ale House - grab some lunch, dinner, or a drink at the front bar Red Rock Tap & Grill - grab some bar snacks and a beer at this local spot where you will often see the groom's brother Rook Coffee - wake the heck up with some real good coffee! The Downtown - late night drinks and live music and dancing
With the ocean on one side and the river on the other, Sea Bright is a beautiful place to spend the day (see beach section for details on beach access). There are a bunch of great places to grab lunch or a drink on the water. Eventide Bar & Grill - a Degenhart family favorite for some great food and usually some live music. Kelly recommends the white sangria! Donovan's Reef - a rowdy beach bar that has music and a great view of the ocean Tommy's Tavern & Tap - lively bar restaurant with great pizza (& other things) and an outdoor area facing the river Rory's Pub - newly renovated after sandy with pub food and drinks and a cozy outdoor area.
