We booked The Academy because it looks like a house we would want to own. We did not see ourselves being the center of attention in a giant room and thus we went with a non-traditional route. We want a party where people are not restricted to their assigned tables. They are free to come and go as they please, and mingle with everyone. There will be limited tables and seats just like a regular house party.
There will be a small, loose, program that will look somewhat like this. 6-7p arrival at the venue, snacks and drinks 7p dinner 8p speeches 8:30p the dances 9p-12mn blackjack table will be open and free time to drink and dance (outdoor lounge will close at 10p).
Semi-formal and dark colors or jewel tones (black, grey, emerald, amber, burgundy, indigo, etc.). Not a big deal if you do not own dark clothes, just if you have it. Semi-formal is somewhere between formal and casual. Also please no "blue" jeans, black jeans are okay, but ultimately just be your beautiful self.
High 67 and low 54. Its San Francisco, weather can be unpredictable so we suggest you bring a jacket.
No, we do love children but we want you to have your adult fun for one day.
We suggest you uber/lyft or taxi. Parking is hard, limited, and frustrating.
If your invitation says "and guest," then yes. But if not we prefer it was just you.
We hired a Taco Truck which will be serving tacos and quesadillas. You make your own by choosing which kind (tacos or quesadillas), a meat (grilled sliced beef, chicken, and braised pork), and then you top it off with your extras (cilantro, onion, guacamole, lettuce, etc). There will also be a salsa bar, variety of snacks, and dessert.
All the gorgeous photos were taken in Italy in Furore on the Amalfi Coast July of 2018. Mark McCormick (the groomsman) did them with his Samsung phone. He was a great photographer. I highly recommend him.
