The H&M Timeline

Marjorie & Hannah first met on September 2nd, 2019 at Miami University during their senior year. (Note: Marjorie made the first move!!) They didn't officially start dating until November 2nd, 2019 and were having the best time on campus until Covid hit March 2020. They had to do long-distance until Marjorie moved to Albuquerque in September 2020. Since then, they have had multiple jobs and homes, but always each other. They moved to Chicago in February 2023, but decided neither of them would propose here! (Note: Marjorie also was the first one to say "I Love You"! HA!)

Hannah's Proposal

When it came to deciding how to propose to Marjorie, I knew that the most important thing to both of us was that we would be alone to share that special moment completely focused on one another. Therefore, what better place is there to propose than a cabin in the Michigan woods? The drive there was full of jokes, favorite songs, games, and spending more and more time with the best person I have ever met. When we arrived, I cooked us up some food while a small radio in the cabin played beautiful, classical music. That night was our last night as girlfriends because tomorrow morning was when I planned to propose. When we woke up, we bundled up in some sweaters and jackets and went on a morning walk as the sun was just beginning to rise. We saw wild turkeys, squirrels, and even a small cat! When we got back to the cabin, Marjorie and I were standing by the fire pit when I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. As you can probably guess, she did say yes! We spent the rest of our trip eating, drinking, and reading by the fire, and it was nothing short of perfect.

Marjorie's Proposal

I thought long and hard about how to propose to Hannah, because Hannah's proposal was so magical! How do you beat that! The good news is, there was nothing to beat, only to match. If you know Hannah, you know she loves fall and Halloween, so what better to do than make that holiday all about us. You would also maybe know that Flix Brewhouse (a full dine-in brewery movie theatre) in Albuquerque is one of our favorite spots on the PLANET, and there is a chain location in Madison, WI. If I couldn't propose to Hannah at one of our favorite places, I would make it as close as possible. I picked "Rocky Horror Picture Show." The perfect gay, camp, theatre, Halloween experience for the proposal. But proposing in a movie theatre is actually quite complicated and not at all us, so I had to go off-script. I racked my brains and thought about everything that made us, us. There are SO many things, I had no idea how to combine them. Then it struck me: a scavenger hunt. Then I was hit by Idea Lightening. A Halloween Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt. Long story short, on October 28, 2023, I took us to a fancy hotel in Madison, took us to see the movie, and THEN gave Hannah a pumpkin bucket so she could go Trick-or-Treating. (In our hotel room). I gave her a set of cards with riddles, hints, and clues framed around things about us. The last clue was expected with much antica------------------pation. Hannah thankfully said yes!
