We first met during our junior year of high school - although Trevor may not remember it quite as clearly as Mariyah does! It wasn’t until senior year, when Mariyah was assigned the seat directly in front of Trevor in Pre-Calculus class. From the start, the two could hardly stop talking and they quickly became known for getting called out by Mr. Conti more times than they can count. After graduation, life took them in separate directions, and they didn’t reconnect again until 5 years later. Little did they know their high school friendship would turn into a lifetime together!

Trevor told Mariyah that he had planned something special for his day off - a chance to step away from home renovations and spend quality time together in Newport. Although Mariyah was a little suspicious, no one gave away any hints. She came fully prepared (typical Mariyah), with freshly done nails and even planned for the two of them to match in pink, while friends, family, and even her nail artist quietly kept the secret. After spending the day together around Newport, with Trevor frequently sneaking away to make “bathroom trips,” he finally led Mariyah to the lighthouse at Castle Hill Inn, where he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The celebrations continued with a dinner surrounded by both of their families, followed by one final surprise - many of Mariyah’s closest friends waiting outside the restaurant to celebrate with them. Mariyah describes it as the best day of her life!
