Do I need a tourist permit to travel to Chihuahua?

Yes, every person crossing the border into Chihuahua will require a tourist permit. If you are flying, you will receive one at the Customs checkpoint in the airport. If you are traveling by car or bus, you can get one online on this link: www.inm.gob.mx/fmme Any stay less than 7 days is free. Don't forget your passport, and make sure it's not expired!

Yes, here are two options. Don't forget to get your tourist permit before traveling at www.inm.gob.mx/fmme 1. Depart from Juarez (recommended): https://odm.com.mx/ The bus will drop you off at the "Pistolas Meneses" stop, and from there you can take a taxi to your hotel. 2. Can I drive to Chihuahua by car?

Yes, here are some considerations if you want to travel from USA to Chihuahua, Mexico by car: 1) You will need to register your American car with a permit. The car can't be on a lease, it has to be a car that is owned by you or your family traveling. It costs about $50. Go to the following link: https://www.banjercito.com.mx/registroVehiculos/ You will need: Passport , Car Title, Vehicle State Registration If car isn't paid off, the lender will need to give you permission from the bank. If the car is paid off, then the release of title will need to be presented. 2) You will also need a tourist permit that every person crossing the border into Chihuahua will require. Go to: www.inm.gob.mx/fmme, select your preferred language, choose your point of entry (the place you will enter the country), and provide your personal information from your passport or passport card, as well as your reason for travel. Make the payment online, using a credit or debit card. You must save and print it after completing the online process. The fee is currently $575.00 pesos (about $30 US Dollars). Present your entry point to Mexico with your printed electronic FMM. Don't forget to bring your valid passport or passport card, which you used to complete your immigration form! For your FMM to be valid, at the entry point you selected, you will be assisted by a federal immigration agent who will stamp your electronic FMM and authorize your entry into Mexico. From that moment on, you have 180 days to transit and visit Mexico. Remember to keep the portion of your exit record that includes the immigration entry stamp, as it is evidence of your legal residence in the country and will be required upon departure.
