How We Met

June 25, 2011

We met at my 25th birthday party. Tony came along with one of our mutual friends. All of a sudden, we started seeing each other at more outings. A month later, Tony asked me out for dinner and a movie. The rest is history.

If you are interested in staying in the Duluth area before or after the wedding, there are many hotel options. Here are a few popular choices. Hotels: * Canal Park Lodge * Comfort Suites * Pier B Resort * Beacon Pointe Resort * Radisson Hotel * Sheraton Duluth Hotel * Country Inn and Suites Duluth North * Americinn Proctor

What To Do

Duluth has a wide variety of activities. Tony and I love to explore the great outdoors, and this is one of the best places to do just that. Below are a few ideas of what you can do indoors and outdoors. Things to do in Duluth: * Lake Superior Zoo * Great Lakes Aquarium * Glensheen Mansion * Enger Tower * Train Depot * Canal Park (walk the pier, Marintine Visitor Center, shop {a really unique shop is Lake Superior Art Glass}) * Skip rocks at Leif Erickson Park * Take a hike at Lester River Things to do further north: * Gooseberry State Park (Upper, Middle, and Lower Falls/Hike to Fifth Falls or Lake Superior) * Split Rock Lighthouse * Black Sand Beach * Palisade Head * Tettegouche State Park (High Falls, Two Step Falls, Illgen Falls) * Cross River * Temperance State Park (Temperance River and Temperance Falls) * Caribou Falls

Places to Eat

It doesnt matter what you like to eat, Duluth will have something for you. We have included a few of our favorite places to eat in the area. Restaurants: * Blackwoods Grill ( Burgers, Pot Roast, Rotisserie Chicken, and Steak are great options) * Duluth Grill ( Chicken Melt, Dill Fries, Beef Barley Soup, and Fresh Blueberry Lemonade are awesome) * Tavern in the Hill ( Turkey Club, Burgers, Thai Chicken Melt, and Pizza are one-of-a-kind here)

Things to See/Do Along the Way

If you need a stretch break, there are many places to stop along the way. We listed our favorites below. * Relax at Tobies in Hinckley for a delicious treat or a filling meal. * Check out the swinging bridge at Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton, MN. * Take a hike at Banning State Park in Sandstone, MN. * Visit Moose Lake Agate and Geological Center in Moose Lake, MN. * As you approach Duluth, stop at the Thompson Hill Visitor Center. They have an amazing view of the area, and you can grab a Duluth Visitor Guide. This has many coupons inside for hotels, dining, and attractions.

For all the days along the way
