Maid of Honor
Jocelyn Rodenstein is the Maid of Honor and Sister of the Bride. She will graduate the University of Miami in December 2023 with a double major in Marketing and Business Analytics. In her free time you can find her reading, working on something for one of her way too many executive boards, or partying with my friends. Jocelyn has been looking forward to being Marissa’s maid of honor ever since they were little girls. She is excited to help make Marissa and Sam’s special day everything they want it to be.

Sam and Kevin met their freshmen year of college at Georgia Tech when they joined AEPi. They immediately connected over their love of nerding out over sports and truly terrible jokes. Sam and Kevin continued their friendship throughout college when they discovered they both loved good food and good beer. Since college, Sam and Kevin have remained great friends despite the distance. They bond over their baseball fandom, which likely peaked the day of the Sox-Sox Double header (Red Sox day game and a White Sox night game). Sam and Marissa have been kind enough to have Kevin over whenever he is in Connecticut for work, and every time Kevin is reminded how great Sam and Marissa are together. He is so excited to celebrate this wonderful occasion with these two lovely people.

Katherine is a fourth year medical student at Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Originally from Boston, she and Marissa met when they both attended Tufts University and lived in Miller Hall. From there, they went on to be eventual housemates and good friends. In just a few years they had cemented a whole host of memories from weeknight dinners in Carmichael Hall, to study sessions and eating guacamole at the center table. However, Marissa and Katherine’s friendship continued beyond college and the city of Boston; both women eventually found themselves in the Chicago area for medical school. There, Marissa was a particularly good friend and let Katherine practice taking her blood pressure at one of their friend dinners, because that is what medical students do for fun. Now as a bridesmaid, Katherine is extremely excited to help wish Marissa well on her and Sam’s happy day! They are both exceptionally lucky!

Keren met Marissa before her sophomore year and her junior year, respectively, at Tufts University. They bonded over "toughing it out" in air-conditioned cabins and making door signs for our residents' rooms on our Resident Assistant orientation. Though they haven't lived in the same place since college, Marissa has continued to be an irreplaceable friend. Keren currently lives in Chicago with her fiancé, Rob and their two adorable kitties, Butter and Toast. Keren can't wait for Sam and Marissa's beautiful wedding!

Aron met Sam Aaron in the Spring of 2014 after getting introduced to a new joyful and terrifying side of Georgia Tech that was Greek life. After a semester of getting to know him as not only a brother, but as a gentleman of impeccable character, a genuine person, and a darn fine Jew, they ended up becoming roommates. Within the room of A(a)ron at AEPi, Aron got to know Sam a lot more, and while dissimilar in our own ways, he was one of the best roommates Aron ever had and a true friend ever since. Even after deciding the life of a frat boy wasn't for Aron, he and Sam remained close, often making or sharing many dinners while both in Atlanta. Filling our evenings with: Aron, discussing exciting nerdy or educational news, and Sam, trying to educate Aron on sports ball. Through the highs and lows of college Sam was always there for one culinary adventure or another. While life took them to different places, distance didn't break the bonds they formed. Sam and Marissa, I was so happy for you two in college to have had each other, and now I am elated to know that you will get to enjoy the rest of your lives together. Mazel Tov!

Sam met Sam his first semester at Georgia Tech (August 2013). They quickly bonded over their mutual love of sports and fierce loyalty to their teams. Sam Viness taught Sam Aaron more about football, particularly why he should love and be proud of his school's rich history in the sport, and Sam Aaron would get Sam Viness to learn more about college hoops and MLB stats. The first year, Sam Aaron lived in the fraternity house and Sam Viness lived in the freshman dorms. Sam Viness was a frequent visitor of the AEPi house and stopped by Sam's room to just relax pretty regularly. Going into the next fall Sam Viness moved into the room next door in AEPi and that whole year chances of hearing one of us smack talk or scream at the TV as they played NCAA football between classes was pretty high. Sam Aaron also came with Sam Viness's Dad to GT's game in NOLA against Tulane for their inaugural game at their brand new stadium. Sam Viness got the pleasure of meeting Marissa later in his college career when she visited Atlanta and then was living there their last year in school. Sam Viness has since been able to meet up with Marissa and Sam Aaron while they were living in Chicago and look forward to helping them celebrate their marriage and many other momentous occasions to come!
