Our story

We met on Hinge when Sal opened with a psychiatry joke and Marissa responded by professing her love of dinosaurs. When Marissa showed the messages to her sister, she was advised to “please wait so I can vet your responses.” Neither of us knew those early texts would lead to countless nerdy conversations, museum trips, and eventually, museum memberships. On our first date, Sal asked to see Marissa again the very next night, and from that point on we simply kept showing up for each other. We connected quickly over the things that matter most to us: family, friends, and a shared curiosity about the world. One of our earliest memories is wandering through the St. Louis History Museum, reading every sign together as if we had nowhere else to be. As two oldest children, we both brought a sense of loyalty, responsibility, and determination into the relationship. Even when distance separated Los Angeles and St. Louis, our commitment only deepened, and every visit reminded us that we had found something worth holding onto. When we finally built a home together in Los Angeles, our lives blended in ways that felt easy and natural. Sal started running with Marissa, while Marissa began lifting with Sal. Many evenings found us in comedy clubs, laughing our way through the week and carrying that joy back home. Our families and friends have become an important part of our story. We treasure board game nights with Sal’s family, Marissa’s siblings teaching Sal how to ski, homemade pasta nights, Friday dinners, and the friendly chaos of trivia competitions. With every moment, we are reminded how lucky we are to be surrounded by so much love and support as we begin this next chapter together.
