The Meeting

March 10, 2018

After receiving a daunting raven scroll (text message) that read "don't talk to Mendivil" in November 2017, Marissa's interest was peaked. By March, both Marissa and Nathan were exhausted from failed attempts to romance other poor common folk. A mutual friend invited Marissa over to where Nathan happened to be staying during a military outing, just down the road from her place of residence at that time. Wine was shared, jokes were exchanged, and Marissa put herself in the fridge. Peer pressure lead to Marissa taking Nathan back to her own residence for a night of... slumber. Upon entering her chambers, Nathan commented on the memorabilia that was displayed from a musical piece, "Les Miserables". Marissa was rather impressed with how well versed Nathan was in the arts, which sparked her interest even more. Not to mention, a wonderful night was about to unfold.

Bending the Knee

December 13, 2020

Nearing the end of a life-changing year, Marissa accompanied Nathan's mom & sister to the nail salon while Nathan stayed home to clean the house. Little did she know, her hands were getting pampered for a reason beyond polish. Upon arriving home, Marissa noticed the house smelled quite nice (normal for a man who claimed to be cleaning) and the music was blasting from the living room (dating a movie connoisseur - also normal). But as she turned the corner to say hello, she found Nathan dressed in black from head to toe with a fur cape to match. As much as Marissa loves to dress up as well, this was quite a surprise compared to his usual garb of a white t-shirt and gym shorts. She quickly realized the sound coming from the TV was music was from Game of Thrones titled "I am Hers, She is Mine", a song that plays when Robb Stark elopes to Talisa. In the kitchen, there was a long strip of black fabric rolled out that lead into the backyard of their very first home. At the end of the trail was the Iron Throne. Marissa took a seat after enthusing over it for several minutes, and Nathan began to discuss their past, present, and bent the knee to ask about the future. "Will you be my Queen?", he asked.
