High Altitude Preparation
Estes Park is at an elevation of 8500. If you are not acclimated to the altitude there are a few things you can do to avoid altitude sickness. If you are flying in from sea level, spend some time in Loveland (elevation 5500) before heading up the canyon. Drink lots of water. Be aware you may become short of breath from minor exertion so plan to take short breaks.
