Our Love Story

From Blind Date to Happily Ever After

Our love story starts with the help of a mutual friend exchanging our phone numbers, leading to a blind date December 20, 2017. We both got the chance to show off our skills at turkey bowling followed by darts and great conversation as we found ourselves closing Wolski's. That first date quickly lead to a second, third and many more including trivia, Buck's games and Lake Geneva ice sculptures. We would spend the next year and a half growing closer and enjoying family dinners, game nights with friends, and trips exploring Vancouver, Colorado, Cuba and more! Most importantly, as we found our love for each other strengthening, we continued to build our relationship centered around our faith. We were guided to both become members at St. Marcus; the blessing of mutual faith continued to propel our relationship forward. The marriage proposal was planned with help from friends and approval from family. After getting home from a friends wedding, ready to relax and settle in for a movie, Lawson surprised Marissa with a book he had made. The book started with images of the "OMG best date ever" texts we each sent friends after the first date, noted all of the amazing qualities that makes Marissa so lovable, included the passage Ecclesisaties 4:12 and finished with a picture of our biggest adventure yet together: home ownership. Lots of hugs, kisses and tears were shed, so much that the note about grabbing the ice cream in the freezer to celebrate was almost missed. Inside was the ring, Lawson got down on one knee and the rest was a joy filled blur. We're so excited to share our special day with you! #JoiningTheJeffersons
