Paid public parking is available on Bellevue Avenue and is operated by the City of Oakland. Fees: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. until dusk: $3.00 for the first two hours; $12.00 for the day. Saturday, Sunday, and holidays: $5.00 for the day. There is also metered parking on Grand Avenue surrounding the park. Please do not leave any valuables in your car.
Yes!! Consider Bart. Take BART to 19th Street station. It’s a 10-minute walk to Fairyland. Then, exit to the 20th Street stairway to street level. Walk on 20th Street to Harrison Street. Turn left on Harrison. Turn right on Grand Avenue. Fairyland is one block away, at the intersection of Grand and Bellevue (right side). You can also take the #12 AC Transit bus from the 19th Street BART station to Fairyland.
Unfortunately adults are not allowed on most of the rides in Fairyland due to the fact that they were built for 0-8 year olds. Guests do have the option of taking a ride on the Jolly Trolley, however!
Fairyland was built in 1950 as the country's first storybook park for children. This year it is celebrating its 75th anniversary. It houses a historic puppet theater as well! For more about the park, see their website: https://fairyland.org/.
Dress code is....well...it is a children's amusement park and will be entirely outdoors, so please dress however is most comfortable for you! No tuxedos required.
