Question

Where should I fly into?

Answer

San Diego Airport (SAN) is most convenient and is located about 25 minutes south of Del Mar. Orange County Airport (SNA) is also a viable option at about 45 minutes north of Del Mar. For those that want to fly in or out of Los Angeles, LAX is anywhere from 90 minutes to 2.5 hours depending on traffic.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Anything goes for the welcome event Saturday night and the Brunch Monday. For the wedding, you can keep it beach dressy. Suits are not necessary. Please be aware that while the weather in mid October should be close to perfect, it may still get chilly at night and the wedding will be at a venue that is both outdoors and indoors so a jacket is not a bad idea.

Question

When should I plan to arrive and leave?

Answer

Feel free to come early and/or stay late to explore San Diego. We hope you will come early enough to pop in for the event Sat. night, but just make sure to join on Sunday.

Question

Where are we registered?

Answer

We have chosen not to register as we do not need any gifts at this time. Focus your efforts on celebrating with us.

Question

What are my options for Shabbat If I want to come In early?

Answer

While we will not have planned Shabbat activities, we are happy to help with suggestions and accommodations. Chabad of Del Mar is about a 45 minute walk from the hotel and take out food can be purchased from the Ralphs in La Jolla (see local resources tab). Please reach out to Gabe for assistance.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

The food/drink at all events will comply with Kosher dietary restrictions (VHSD. Mashgiach will be on site at the wedding). There will be vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options at all meals. If you need any additional accommodation, please reach out to us directly.

Question

How should I get to the venues?

Answer

If you are staying at one of the host hotels, you can easily walk to the venue for Saturday night and to the wedding on Sunday (aprox. 10 minute walk for both). If you are driving, you can find street parking near both venues. Uber/Lyft will be a viable option, as both events will have open bar. The brunch Monday is only a 5 minute walk.

Question

Is Del Mar Walkable? Do I need a car?

Answer

You do not necessarily need a car if you are staying at one of the host hotels in Del Mar. from that location, you are walkable to several shops/restaurants/bars in downtown Del Mar, as well as the beach and all of the weekend venues. Uber/Lyft is also readily accessible at all times
