Marissa moved to DFW in 2014 after finishing high school and started working at Six Flags as a photographer. This is where it all began. Gabe was working in management which was who Marissa had to report to. At first they built a friendship and went on trips together with friends. Along the way their connection grew into the love they have for each other today.
Gabe has always kept in the back of his mind that graduating college was a priority before he was ready to get on one knee. Well he walked the stage May 2019 and the time window was now open! A lot of ideas ran across his head but it wasn’t until the latter part of the year where it was coming closer to fruition. The plan was to propose during the Seattle trip scheduled for March 2020. Well we all know how March went, as we were in full pandemic shut down, including engagement ring jewelry shops. If you know us, a little adversity was not gonna stop the mission! Oh boy did the adversity not stop. Marissa dealt with a family member death during this time, so respectfully it wouldn’t have been appropriate to pop the question. Gabe took his search to online jewelry shops with eventual success and a new target date set as Marissa’s birthday, April 17th. Well the day came and tragedy struck again as another one of Marissas close family members tragically passed. With much respect to mourn, another appropriate delay was in order. He was thinking, “Universe, how many extenuating circumstances are you gonna throw at me until I can ask her to be my wife?” May came around and the shelter in place orders had been lifted. The ring was in hand, parents blessings were received and persistence was looking to pay off on a regular Thursday May evening. Gabe gets some over the top decorations, hundreds of roses white and red, candles, and is set for a surprise. Well that night Marissa walks in to a normally not silent home, tears in her eyes, and now a future Mrs.
