The closest town to our venue is Danville, VA. You can fly into Richmond or Raleigh-Durham airport and rent a car, or you can choose to drive the whole way. From Danville, it is about a 30 minute drive to the vineyard. There are other areas within driving distance to Danville as well. Cell service can be spotty once outside of town, so we recommend downloading instructions to your phone or printing them out ahead of time. The vineyard will be marked on Halifax road, so you should see it when you arrive!
We will have a designated parking area on the property; please follow the signs when you arrive. From the parking area, you can choose to walk to the wedding location, or we will have a designated driver that can chauffeur you. It will not be a long walk, but the path is not paved.
Danville has some hotels and airbnbs available. We are working on blocking some boutique hotel rooms for close family; if you are interested, please reach out to the bride, groom, or next of kin for more information. Otherwise, hotels and airbnb links are listed under the 'Travel' tab. We encourage guests to look and book as soon as possible. It is a small town, but there are other areas within driving distance for guests to stay. Please reach out with questions, we are happy to help!
Our ceremony and reception will be be held outside! It may be hot (the average temp usually ranges from 55-80F this time of year), so please dress comfortably. The reception will be underneath a tent near the vineyard. We will have restrooms available in the house.
We are not picky about attire! If you are looking for a theme, we would say it is a semi-formal garden wedding. Please consider wearing comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven, gravelly, or possibly slippery if there is rain.
We will be having buffet-style southern food: Smoked Pork & Grilled chicken Mixed fruit Kale salad Mac & cheese Baked beans Mashed potatoes Grilled asparagus & Fried cabbage Rolls & cornbread A vegan option will be available as well for those who request it.
