Take a stroll through our little gem of a downtown and make sure to come back at night for the twinkle lights. Some of our favorite spots downtown are: -Jubeelee (cute shop for cards, clothes, homewares, etc) -Revolvr (cool menswear shop) -Dudley's (bookstore and coffee shop) -Looney Bean (coffee shop right on the river) -Pizza Mondo (great local pizza shop) -Plankers (delicious sandwich shop) -Zydeco (one of Marissa and Alex's favorite restaurants) -900 Wall (the site of Marissa and Alex's first date and their current favorite date night spot) -Bonta (amazing gelato shop) -Velvet (cute and trendy bar)
The calling card of our city--a river right through town! There are many different areas in town to enjoy the river, but we recommend walking through Drake Park, which will take you right alongside the river. Additionally, floating the river is one of Bend's biggest summer attractions, and it is so much fun! Put your tube in at Riverbend Park, and you'll float past the shops of the Old Mill District and the historic homes of Old Town Bend before getting out at Drake Park. We can provide more details later on the best way to handle parking, etc. Fun Fact: The Deschutes River flows south to north!
Our favorite hike ever and also where we got engaged! :) This loop trail is about 3 miles and will take you right along the river for the entire hike. It is mostly easy but there are a couple steep-ish hills. There is a bridge exactly halfway in that offers gorgeous views and makes for great pictures!
The butte right in the middle of Bend. You can either hike up or drive up, and at the top, you'll see the whole city sprawled out in every direction. In addition, the summit offers incredible views of at least 10 mountain peaks, including Mount Bachelor, the Three Sisters, and even Mount Hood, all the way in Portland.
