Marissa and Alex met at their 20's bible study where Marissa disagreed with most of the comments Alex made on the topic that night. Over the next two years, they developed a friendship hanging out around Phoenixville with other people from the group.

After two years of friendship, Alex finally asked Marissa out to dinner on a date. This was followed up with a date to Painting with a Twist.

After two years of dating, Marissa and Alex enjoyed a nice quarantine night out at Uncle B's BBQ where they caught up with Alex's parents. Afterwards, they were hanging out at Alex's house while looking at houses online. After baiting Marissa into saying she would not marry him, Alex pulled out a ring and said, "How about now? Will you marry me?" Marissa obviously said yes.
